The 6th Floor Blog: Why Are We Maybe About to Start Tweeting About Male Nail Polish?

Written By Unknown on Rabu, 20 Februari 2013 | 18.37

If you follow the magazine on Twitter, you generally know what you're in for. Descriptions of our latest articles, retweets of the glowing praise of our latest articles, calls for you to send us your first-day-of-school photos or words that should be banned, that sort of thing. This week, all expectations are about to be blown up. (Or maybe they won't! Who knows? That's the thing about doing away with expectations!) We're turning over the Twitter controls to our culture editor, Adam Sternbergh. In part this momentous power shift relates to the fact that the Oscars are coming up, so people probably care even more about Adam's great movie wisdom this week than they normally do. In (larger) part it's because Adam needs a bigger platform to which to spread his insight about male nail polish.

Asked for comment, he said only, "Twitter is a dynamic, emerging platform for synergistic social-media audience-interactivation that also facilitates frequent and EXCESSIVE AND POSSIBLY CAREER-ENDING USE OF ALL-CAPS."

If this goes well (HOW COULD IT NOT?), you can expect to find other guest tweeters commandeering our account in the weeks to come. Or you can't. See what we did there with expectations? Yeah. That's what this whole week will be like, at @NYTmag.
