For pictures to accompany Jeff Himmelman's cover story about Frank Ocean in this Sunday's magazine, we turned to Ryan McGinley, who put M.I.A. on a treacherous-looking swing over New York City in 2010.
For this occasion, McGinley hired a Los Angeles stunt coordinator to rig a diving board to a van, before parking it at the edge of the helipad in Griffith Park in Los Angeles. Here are a couple of additional photographs from the shoot, with McGinley himself trying out the board.
